Fall 2011

This has been a fantastic year in the studio! I accompanied 8 of my students to Columbus, GA this past summer for the Guitar Foundation of America convention and competition. My advanced group, the "Mile High Guitar Ensemble" won a spot in their Youth Ensemble Showcase concert. They played beautifully! Check out their performance on YouTube! We are lucky enough to be going into the studio in November to record their GFA repertoire, and maybe another tune or two to be used as a promo for the studio.

Our annual 'Coffee House' performance was in late August and we held it at 910Arts Events Gallery. It was a great evening of classical guitar repertoire from outside the Suzuki method. Students played music by Joep Wanders, Villa-Lobos, Eduardo Sainz de la Maza, Jose Ferrer, and of course we managed to fit in some Beatles. The level of playing was very high! Congratulations to all our students.

For families interested in joining the studio, please contact me through the contact page. I will likely be adding a handful of new young ones in fall of 2012, so you'll want to get on the waiting list soon! If you just can't wait, please contact my friend Joe Beninghof who teaches a couple of days a week in the Park Hill area.
